Karl Olschofka was the man most responsible for the
longevity and success of the Rockingham County Baseball League. After moving from
New
York City
to the
Harrisonburg
area in 1949, Olschofka was involved in the
Rockingham County Baseball League for 5 decades. Olschofka,
who was the long time Commissioner of the RCBL, held nearly every post on
the Board of Directors including Commissioner, Vice Commissioner,
Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian. Olschofka, the long-time owner and
operator of the Blue Stone Inn restaurant, was an avid
New York Yankees fan. His
passion for the game of baseball and the RCBL will never be forgotten. |
